private jet ownerships

does anyone know where i can find some information about the owners of private jets... i am doing an academic paper on the economic reasons why people opt for private aircraft as opposed to airlines.. the way i see it, people want the freedom to come and go as they please with their own planes, without the lines, the hassle, etc.
financially speaking, unless you fly 500+ hours a year or something like that, owning a $10M plane is unreasonable...

any thoughts or places to find info, besides conklin de decker is appreciated.. thanks

sure...

*5000 airports instead of about 500
*better security
*aircraft is depreciable like construction equipment or any other equipment, so that $10M is really a lot less with accelerated depreciation and tax allowances
*privacy is huge!
*personal useage, don't underestimate this!
*$10M to some people/companies is chump change

other notes...it only takes about 250hrs/year to justify an aircraft b/c of the transportation outside of just the plane ticket. Unnecessary overnights, rental cars, meals, salary for that time, travel allowances, lost work, employee happiness! These things add up BIG TIME!

Look at an exec that makes $500K a year, a day is worth $1400. If he loses 6 hours each way due to airline hassles, that is $2100 dollars you paid that person to sit. An unnecessary overnight here and there could cost tens of thousands when you add it up and could run into the millions just in lost work if you have a team of highly paid people.

That is why. You have to dig deep, look at the hidden costs. Think outside just the flight.

For some people or companies, it makes sense.

I fly a Sabre 65 and this is EXACTLY the case with us.

Cheers!
