Netjets vs Netjets International

I noticed that the netjet's website had 2 places to apply, one was netjets and the other was international. What is the difference? Is it the same company? I have significant international experience in Europe, South America and Asia. Would I have a better shot with international or the regular netjets?

Hey, if I were you, I would apply to International once you meet there minimums, which are different than Net Jets USA. They do more long haul flying, flying larger equipment, pay is better on the heavier stuff. On the other hand, if you prefer day trips and being home at night like I do, you might want to avoid International. Hope this helps some.

Just to clarify. NJI and NJA are both NetJets (US). NJI flys the GIV and GVs only. NJA does an equal amount of international flying in the CX, G200, Falcon 2000A/EX, and 737.

On the Netjets web page they list slightly different qualifications for the two groups. The one that intrests me is, "Crewmembers must live in the Continental US and within 1 hour of an airport with scheduled airline service."

If I apply for one does the company place you where they want to or does your application stay with the group you apply to?

NJA just signed a new contract and has different work rules than NJI. The NJI pilots are currently waiting for a new pay schedule and work rules that will be handed to them by the management as they are non-union. NJA have over 2000 pilots and NJI has under 500.

As for basing, NJA has 5 bases that you can choose from and NJI still has home basing. But to get on with NJI you need the higher minimums, Gulfstream time and letter of Rec for NJI to be competitive for the interview. They get thousangs of resumes for a handful of jobs.

Here's the kicker - three years from last November there may be a merger of the two operations. And when I use the wrod MAY, I mean may. Don't count on it! But there will be a chance to fly the GIV & GV is you get on with NJA.

BTW - If you meet other quals you might have a chance to fly at NJE, or Europe. They ae hiring close to 100 guys soon I hear.

From speaking to a NJA Captain on the west coast, he said that for every two command positions available at NJI, one of those must be made available to NJA. Further, for every 3 command positions available at NJA, one must be made available to NJI first officers. Interesting, I guess it does confirm that even if you join NJA, you will be given a chance to fly the GV and GIV when seniority is high enough.

There is not such provision for NJI FOs (or Capts). NJA pilots may flow to NJI, but NJI pilots cannot flow to NJA.

Half of all new FO positions at NJI will go to NJA pilots.
1/3rd of Capt positions will go to NJA pilots.

Just wondering guys. Is the pay the same on both sides of the fence. That is, the payrates etc. that is posted here on the APC the same for NJI. Thanks for any info.

The numbers on the APC site are for NJA....NJI pay is individually negotiated, and in some cases may be less than the NJA numbers.

For the record, the first GIV(NJI) FO and Capt bids were posted yesterday for NJA pilots.
