No...I don't want anymore block or duty hours in a year. I'm tired enough. The airlines need to raise their fares to cover their costs and quit taking off the backs of their employees.

OK, I'll bite.

Working yourself to death isn't the answer. Get a part time job or start a business. Or live on what you make in 1,000. Focusing on a 20% increase in pay, not work is the answer.

I agree the pax carriers do need to raise fares but too many ppl want to fly on the cheap and that is a problem in and of its self .

Tired equals mistakes.
I talk with my United friend. He says he's always at 93 hrs with 12 days off. Plus commuting.
I flew 95:30 one time at AA all actual flight (block) time. No credit. I was exhausted for the whole next month.
I don't want to work more.
For those that do not know.
American lines built to 78 hours. No minimum required days off. We do still have duty rigs. We used to have some Lima Peru lines that were 23 days on, 8 days off. From MIA LIM is 6 to 6:45 hours.
Pilots are allowed to pick up to 83 hours.
I do not want to work more than this.
If AA could they would build the lines to 95 like UAL.
It would be nice if our pilots weren't picking up open time. Some are some are not.
I will do whatever I can to keep the FAA from allowing any increases in FAR's for flight time.
(I will do whatever) means writing e-mails to FAA or Elected officials.

If someone needs 1200 hours a year?

Here come the excuses;
I have two kids in college. (I paid for all of my college-not my parents)
I have a house and car payments (don't make me work more because of your inability to control your BMW impulses)

RVSM, ATC all experience there just retired, lowered hiring min's at regionals equals risk.
Multiply that with fatigued pilots and what do you get?

You say work is not the answer, but then you also say get another job or start a business. Running your own business is certanily harder than flying for a living and a part time job is just more work, isn't it?

You won't make more money, you'll just work an extra 20% for the same pay. Management would use this as an excuse to lower hourly wages.

One of the reasons I left aviation is the morons. Comments like, "so what if Southwest pilots make more, we can fly 100 hours a month" make me want to scream. Stupid Stupid Stupid. Since you guys are a little slow I'll repeat, Stupid Stupid Stupid.

AMEN!!!!

We all make mistakes, even when rested, BUT:

Just for fun, count the number of little mistakes (dialing in 127.3 vice 123.7 for example) you make on the first day of a crappy four day (all 9.0 rests with a couple delayed hotel shuttles). Then count up the mistakes you make on the FOURTH day and compare.

For those of us flying the puddle jumpers, I would love to see a leg limit as well: ten 30 minute blocks is punishment.
