I am about to get furloughed from United. I flew CRJs for 8 years prior and have a job opertunity, however I need to take a Pro-Check to get current. I have contacted PanAM and the rate would be cheaper if I had a partner. Anyone needing a PC please PM me.

Also if you'r about to get furlough you can apply for a WIA grant and start training even before your furlough date.

I dont know about your state, but in mine, I cannot do anything with WIA until I am on Unemployment. Also, Unemployment office will NOT let me file until my actual Furlough date... FYI .. If you know some way to get things going early please share.

As a further update, I am still waiting for the woman to send me the information, so I cannot comment yet on its value or lack thereof. Don't forget to read through all the fine print before you sign anything. A bad scenario is for anyone to start training only to find out that there are no WIA funds after all.

It is correct that you should not apply for unemployment until after your furlough date. There is no way to speed things up and I would advise you not to try.
