RJET Recalls Pilots, FAs
With its new contract with Midwest Airlines, Republic Airways Holdings is recalling more than 100 pilots and flight attendants out of the more than 500 furloughed in July. However, the deal calls for Midwest to operate the planes under its own certificate in 2010 but it does give RJET breathing room to develop new business the keep the crews flying. The airline said that in addition to the 100 crews being recalled, another 100 pilots and flight attendants could be reassigned to Midwest routes instead of flying other services done by Republic.

once again information like this is first received by the media without any word from the company or media. this should make things that much more interesting.

this is crap info..... 500 furloughed is way off (150ish), FAs were never furloughed and I highly doubt the Midwest deal is gonna bring anyone back

Im not going to hold my breath for that call. This deal was in the works long before any of us turned in our id's, so I cant see them suddenly recalling any time in the near future.

what if the purpose of the furlough was simply to make it easier to shift people around from certificate to certificate and displace a bunch of people without having to work within the contract (as if they did that anyway)?

then a quick recall would make sense, makes it a lot easier for them to move people off the RP certificate and onto the RW and not have to pay us per diem while in training since we would no longer have a base.

just my thoughts...

Is there realy any truth to this? anyone care to chime in thats at RAH right now?

I just spoke to a F'd Buddy and hes says hes hopefull that this stuff is true but "he'll believe when he sees it"

RAH guys recalled, Midwest Express guys furloughed.

I'm not a math major, but that equates to a significant net loss in pilot income for the industry.

Bad news for ALL of us in the long run. Please keep that in mind.

True that.

No recall at RAH until spring 2009 at the earliest. Company still says were overstaffed for the current number of aircraft we have. Whenever they do recall I don’t expect many of the furloughed pilots to return. A lot of of these guys came from other regionals, and have already moved on to other flying jobs.

Unfortunately from what I was reading on airlinepilotcentral it seems that there were going to be big furloughs at Midwest to begin with... Guess this is just salt in an open wound...
