You are lucky indeed. A few years ago, after a flight into MEM, we were being driven by the crewbus, back to the AOC. My bag was on the shelf directly opposite the door when the driver had to swerve to avoid a tug. My bag went flying and ended up in the door well, slightly pushing the double doors open. When we got to the AOC, I retrieved my bag, only to realize my prescription sunglasses (which cost about $400) had not only fallen out of my bag, but had exited the bus. The driver and I retraced our track, but to no avail. I wondered if the company would pay (I know, I know
) to have them replaced, and so I asked my ACP, who told me that "No", the company would not pay for them, and to "just submit the claim to my insurance company." You are lucky indeed. Sounds like you owe FredEx an adult beverage.
