Not good for any pilot.
Quote: IBC Airways is a 135 operator that has an SIC program. They hire with a bare minimum commercial multi instrument.

Pay is 18500 a year flying Saab 340s. Its PFT though so you will have to pay 7500 for training and sign a 2 year training contract.
Now that is detestable. They charge for training then they make you stay for two years? WHY??? So you are saying that a pilot would OWE THEM SOMETHING if they left before two years? That's messed up.
I hope nobody else would consider doing this. It just makes it harder for the rest of us to actually get paid!

What kind of time are they looking for direct hire captains? What is Captain pay? Thanks in advance.

I should hit 135 mins this week. That's great, just in time for NO JOB PROSPECTS. Or are there?

Dont give up man the thing you have going for you is alot of outfits will not hire furloughed 121 guys. (sorry guys but you know its true) So it may be possible to get on a freight gig etc. Hang in there man and stay away from a PFT gig. to the person who works for IBC I really hope you did not pay them a dime to be there.

I really hope I am wrong on this, but I haven't seen any signs that I'm not... I think it's going to get worse before it gets better. I've had 135 mins for a few months now and as near as I can tell, nobody is hiring... I warned that even flight instructig gigs are difficult to find and they are. The flight school that I worked for just laid me off last week and I'm filling out unemployment stuff... If you have a job right now, STAY THERE! This is NOT the time to be out an hunting for a better job! I do believe that the jobs will come back, but till then, stay where you are and you'll be happier in the long run. It may be miserable in the short run, but it's far better to be employed than unemployed right now.

This job market is a roller coaster, we all know that...it's bound to come back, and come back big....just position yourself to be in the right places when that happens!
