Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Yep - maddog. I hope this philosophy in training has crossed into all fleets -
I came away from this CQ feeling good about the stuff that was emphasized - a different mentality from "box checking" of years past, regardless of its relavance.
Enjoy your weekend/T'giving week!

Have a great weekend and Thanksgiving to you and everyone else, too.
It has already happened. At least twice.
A Pinnacle RJ with no pax over Missouri and a Colgan Q-400 with 50 people in Buffalo.
Two "professional airline crews" who basically didn't understand the fundamentals of aerodynamics or the machinery they were operating.
It will eventually work its way to the majors.
We are "coasting" on 50 years of safety momentum right now.

Several ways to get what you want.
1. Swap for a different trip that operates on the same days as your trip. Then te reserve coverage doesn't matter.
2. Swap with pot into a trip that operates on days with worse coverage. With te multiplier set to 1.5 for December this will be a little tougher, but not impossible. Remember as the reserves start getting used, or more open trips appear, the "avail" number decreases. Let's say you're off from the 10-17 and you want to swap your New years trip for something operating during your week off. Around the 6th or 7th the reserves available will start to drop off (especially if it's a weekend day, or bad wx). You're swap can now be approved once the coverage drops low enough to meet the req's of 23.W. Yours will be a little harder to do because new years is a holiday and has even stricter requirements. It is doable though. Then, once the swap is approved you can try to cherry pick the perfect WS later in the month, or just enjoy your holiday at home.
Don't write it off as impossible. Coverage fluctuates throughout the month, and a swap or drop could eventually get approved even if it looks abysmal now.
3. Put in a blind swap request. Instead of searching open time endlessly trying to find a trip that works, just put it the date you want to pickup and then *X instead of a specific rotation (with X being the number of day trip you are seeking), for example *3 tells PCS that you're willing to swap for ANY 3 day on the date you specify as a swap for your trip. PCS will do all the hard work for you and do the swap if it meets your criteria.
