I'd like to know how and why when you start the APU, the displays turn a fraction to the right. As if some way, somehow, the physical motion of the turbine turning gets translated into an electrical signal that torques the screens.

Yeah, I've seen that too! It must be tied into the SPS system too because it sometimes turns on as well.....in super sloooowwwww mooootion! I don't have any clue but a good plane though.

That's correct. It's not necessary to turn the avionics masters OFF before starting the APU. Just crank it, the Electrical Logic protects the system.

My favorite was the Check A1P Performance message. There are guys that have gate returned for that in the past.

I know. Scary and sad considering guys at ExpressJet tend to set the parking brake quite often, especially when operating in EWR.
