UPS health insurance while on furlough

I would like to say that at NWA the ALPA members had an assessment to cover the COBRA payments for furloughed pilots. For me it was like $50 a month or less. I know that we had some pilots with sick family members that couldn't get insurance otherwise, due to pre-existing conditions. The insurance was a lifesaver, literally.

I hope that the IPA considers such a thing here. As for me, with a 2 year old and a 5 year old, health insurance is extremely important.

See previous posts on the matter. Don't think it will be an issue. Covered.
COBRA is around $1500/family in 2009. Less for single, no dependent folks.

I believe under the Obama stimulus pkg. COBRA benefits are 60% covered by the Govt. leaving only 40% covered by the furloughees.
