Default UPS/IPA Contract Talks on Ice - AGAIN

"At approximately 5 p.m. today, NMB Senior mediator Linda Puchala decided against scheduling further contract negotiations between IPA and UPS. After spending the better part of one full day with all members of the IPA Negotiation Committee and Executive board, Puchala has concluded that the Association is not prepared to resume bargaining at this time. No new bargaining sessions were scheduled for 2006."

H-m-m-m, things are beginning to get interesting here in toon town. Looks like UPS will get yet another Christmas season out of the current contract. Too bad we'll have to limit the A380 and 747-400 legs to less than 12 hours since we still don't have double crew language for these new jets.

Ugh, you mean our negotiators and company don't have a UPS t/a to look to for getting our talks a kick start? Great.

You'd better plan on waiting a whole lot longer if you're waiting on our contract to wrap up.

The two Executive Board members whom our president trashed today protested in D.C. because they don't like what they saw the EB/NC agreeing to. Both Cindy and Dean deserve our thanks and praise; so what if it means getting 'iced'. A kick butt contract in 2007 is better than one riddled with compromises in 2006.

Better to throw out any proposal that won't cut it than chance a vote on a substandard or self-serving proposal. People aren't too happy with fearless leader. Just another day of retro pay? Actually it's another day of real pay cuts for those of us who haven't had a raise in five years.
Looks like we may have time to run an election in the interim.
The NMB hasn't done us any favors-do those dolts ever think of setting deadlines? Typical government flunkies who get paid regardless of performance and couldn't mediate a dog fight.

Default IPA Talks

Well, the "come to Jesus meeting has ended in DC". The IPA has lost again. You better get your house in order.

We threw out Bob Miller and look who we got ladies and gentlemen of the I.P.A. I saw the writing on the wall when Nicholson ran, and took a beating on the Bar and Grill for it. Turns out some of us know what electing Tom would give us: incompetence at our top position.

You all wanted change? You got it. Don't be mad at Tom, Magner, or anyone else for that matter. WE GOT THE LEADERSHIP WE DESERVED. If any of you had spoken to committee chairs or the negotiating committee before you cast your vote for Tom, you just might have changed your mind.

Instead of arguing about what happened yesterday, let's start being 100% for a change instead of talking tough yet wasting millions on ads & analysts.

I don't think anyone can argue about what happened yesterday. It was unsatisfactory and now it has to be fixed by shifting our strategy.

Agree with you, Jungle. Tom shifting blame to two EBers who were completely left out of the negotiation process is just juvenile. The NMB was doing their job, and penalized us accordingly.

Nicholson is an embarrassment, and he needs to go.
