FDX: Short Course Rules?

Subscribe
I can't find this info spelled out in the contract (though admittedly, I did not read every word in the training section), so I thought I'd ask around here.

Example:

Lets say you've been an airbus FO for a while, and you just finished up training as well as IOE for MD-11 FO. Now, an excess bid comes out, and you get kicked back to Airbus FO. What kind of training do you get?

I heard from one guy, if it has been less than 6 months from your last 6 month ride on the old plane, then you get some kind of short course. And if more than 6 months have elapsed since your last 6 month ride (CMV1 I guess?), then you get a full course.

But, I heard from other people who think if you've been off the first airplane for less than 2 years, then there was some kind of short course available.

Thanks for any info.

Goto VIPS/Training & Standards/A300/Requalification.
It's all there.

Skypine-
Just for kicks I went to look it up and after 15 min gave up. Despite what Cargo Pirate said it is not there... at least not obvious. Since I am not on the Bus and ADD kicked in I just quit looking. Give them a call on Monday and training will let you know. FWIW.

I found it, right where Pirate said to. Just go to Training and Standards from the main page (no need to go to VIPS first).

I'm surprised to read, how "leinient" the Short Requal course is.

If I read it correctly, if you miss less than 2 CMV's, you just get a quicky course. You have to miss 2 CMVs, and even then you just get a slightly longer Re-qual. To get the full course, you have to have been off the plane 2 years or more.

The phrase "you can lead a horse to water but can't make him drink" comes to mind. The OVERVIEW was a little too obvious for me to look there ha ha.

I also am surprised how quick to get you back on speed. Surprising on the 11 side of the house they can get you back up to speed equally as fast.

Actually, in your case, you need to include the FE training after you recovered from your butterfly incident!
