Huck, I respect your sentiment, but this company has a history of quashing that which it does not want to go public and obviously the moderators of this board are just as spineless by removing a provocative thread and sweeping it under the carpet, AGAIN. If it takes me or any of us being grilled in discovery it's a small price to pay if nobody else dies.
Remember back to the sleep study which FDX was a proud participant of until the results were not to their liking and they blocked an invited ALPA 1 from the briefing with guards at the doors. NASA was kind enough to provide a duplicate briefing at another location, but then our fearless SVP of flight tried to rewrite the results of the final version of the report. It was only when one of our own, financed by UPS pilots sued under the Freedom of Information Act to get the unbiased data forever into the congressional record. Our pilots didn't have the cajones to even step up to the plate then, but UPS guys did. By the way, a heartfelt thanks Big Brown guys; way to step up to the plate.
More current is the Enders report with obviously distasteful results and thus cloaking the results to the most vested participants. And now Huck you of all people should know that the only way to get to the bottom of all this is to open it to the light of day and millions or not, money is the only way to accomplish this, because the almighty Fredex will never do it on their own.
For those of you that did not see the beginning of the removed thread it is included below.
I know most of us would not prefer to litigate anything, but the time has come to put money and the courts to work in the name of safety. Two good pilots have lost their lives, which most of all know was just a matter of time with whatever is going on with the 10/11's and or something within Fredex's culture that is at the bottom of this. One pilot comes to mind (BF) who lost his job because of a very similar incident that occurred at EWR. For those of you that don't remember one of the glaring deficiencies in that investigation is that the wing and associated gear "disappeared" and thus could never tell their tale in the name of fault. What "salvage" company do any of you think would take a perfectly good piece of aluminum scrap and haul it out to sea to dispose of it? Amazing that there were over 20 software revisions to the 11 after that event, but there was nothing wrong with the design. If I'm not mistaken right after BF was fired Fredex asked him to turn around and testify FOR Fredex against Boeing. Talk about ba!!s.
You want to see the Enders report? Get it in discovery. Want to fix whatever is going on? Make it cost more to leave things alone than to fix the problem. If anyone knows the families they need to be told this stuff. I''ll make the prediction here; if Boeing and/or Fredex is not forced to fix the problem then these won't be the first two to die. Sorry to stir the pot, but we've been here before and it's deja vu all over again. KLSFDX
p.s. An addendum to the beginning of the removed thread. This time was different people. Up until now nobody died, but more and more guys I've talked to about this are profoundly affected by this mishap, and this one is not going away like the others.
