And most important of all, people aren't lining up to be bus drivers. Why pay more when you've got a stack of resume's from people willing to do it at the current pay?

Buses dont move at 500+mph at 37000ft either. Something breaks on a bus what do they do? They pull over and wait for a tow truck. What do we do? Fix it, or limp through the skys until we can figure out the best course of action to save the passengers (and our own) lives. There arent any redo's in flying. If you screw the pooch its likely going to be the last time. Comparing a pilot to a busdriver is absurd no matter how much you slice it or dice it.

No matter how automated an aircraft is there will always be a chance something can fail or go wrong and you better hope if you're in the back that that pilot up front isnt just a "busdriver".

Flying a passenger airplane takes a lot more training and a little more skill than driving a greyhound bus. The fact that I even have to say this says a lot about the deterioration of this profession and how little respect this profession has.

Does anyone have the payscales for ExpressJet back in 2000 or 2001 when they had the EMB-120s and B1900s?

We used to fly those things from IAH to HOU. I think I figured out once my pay for that trip was like $1.85 as an FO but I'd like to see the payscale again and recalculate. I wonder if there any other very short legs out like that anymore.
