Hi my name is darshan and i live in toronto, canada. i want to become a commercial pilot and need to some advice on how to start. I plan on starting the following year in Brampton Flight School and see how it goes. I was a former Royal Canadian Air Cadet and had now problem with heights or anything.
I needed to knwo how long for day one to a the commercial pilot license it will take approximately. Also, If anyone knows that approx cost in canada, that you be really good, so it gives me a judgments. Lastly, how hard is to go through and get a job with say Air Canada. I have heard that interviews are almost a day long with all type of memory and psyc tests.

Thank you, I have heard a lot about this forum and decided to join.

It all depends on how much you fly. From day one it took me about two years to obtain my commercial certificate and that included getting my instrument rating. Each school trains at a different pace, but I would say at least a couple of years is the norm. As far as the price in Canada I would not know for sure but it is definitely not cheap. You can pay anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000 to get everything including your commercial certificate with instrument and multi engine ratings. Of course this all depends on how fast you pick up on things so the more often you fly the better (rust factor). Right now getting a job with a major airline like Air Canada would take considerable time. You need major flight hours to even be considered for a position like that. You can probably see their flight minimums on this site under airlines. Best of luck.
