Quote: Lag,

Do what you want to do. I don't think I'd do anything that is questionable right now. I also remember seeing emails forbidding us to accrue ff miles on carriers other than NWA (now AA and United). While it seems trivial, it appears that management is pursuing trivial matters.

I do agree that the union should talk to the company about this. FF miles are a good deal for us and I have enjoyed elite status for years.
When did you guys see these emails? I haven't seen one in 5 years and I meticulously keep every pertinent email and FCIF. If it's not in the contract and hasn't been officially told to current members than I hardly think it's set policy??

Yes, CAL is joining UAL in Star Alliance.

Quote: We do get miles on UAL. There was a UAL customer service rep in AOC a few years ago signing us up for their frequent flier program .
Can anyone tell me what deal they were offering when the rep was in AOC back then? Is there a number we can call to still try and get the same deal? Thanks all.

Mirrored your existing level.

I would suggest calling up your airline of choice and indicating that you are a "insert level" medallion frequent flyer contemplating changing your allegiance to either AA/UAL and ask if they would be willing to grant you a similar level as a courtesy.
