Subject: Unacceptable Comments made by Dean Tim Brady as reported in The Washington Post article “Air Safety Initiatives Run Into Opposition”

washingtonpost.com

Dear Mr. ERAU President-

It is entirely un-acceptable, inappropriate and outrageous that ERAU staff oppose proposed safety regulations made by the National Transportation Safety Board concerning the commuter crash of Continental Connection in Buffalo, NY .

Specifically that ERAU oppose the proposed requirement of ATP minimum required flight hours in 121 flight operations of 1500hrs for employment.

Your administration at ERAU is making it perfectly clear to the Alumni and Parents of currently enrolled flight students that ERAU does not hold student Aviation Safety nor Airmen education as the true guiding principle.

Your administration at ERAU is making it perfectly clear they are willing to send Embry-Riddle trained pilots into the work force un-prepared for 121 Airline Flight operations because it is easier to attract prospective students to ERAU by giving them a false guarantee they will acquire regional airline employment upon graduation.

As an ERAU alumni and concerned parent I demand you change your administrations stance to one of safety and furtherance of the piloting profession based upon skill and experience obtained in flight operations.

total time goes to 1500. riddle grads walk with ~250ish. then who would shell out $200k to be 1/6th of the way to the airlines?

its all business.

in essesnce, theres a point: its the training involved that cranks out certain pilots. thats why your german shepard is extra friendly and the one riding around in the back of the k9 car will take a couple digits from your hand.

I don't know why these schools are so paranoid... There were still plenty of people going through these programs back when the mins were 1500+ anyway right? How many years were the mins less than this? Two, maybe three years?

Prices were a lot cheaper and the idea of dropping that 1500 min was a reality.
