Default Jetblue aircraft yes, but hiring no?

So, right on schedule, they did announce getting 7 Airbus, but no mention of any hiring. Rumor was 125 to be hired this year and to be announced today with the earnings report. Also, what about the 4 EMB's. Will we just staff these net aircraft with current pilots?

We will hire 125 this year and probably the same number in 2011. Open houses will be anounced next week. Training in June thru Sept. All new hires will go to the 190 until current 190 FO's stop bidding 320.

Go to jetblue.com, click on work here. Minimums etc will be posted; the position will be posted only when they start accepting applications.

That sounds great, any idea about experience requirements (PIC turbine)? In the last round of hiring they took a lot of us guys with 5k+ in the right seat of an RJ, but I suppose that will be over?

I am wondering what "open houses" are. Can you please spoon feed me?

Sure. When we're hiring we'll typically host an event in Orlando at the schoolhouse. Big presentation in the auditorium, tour the facility, and about 2 minutes face time with a pilot recruiter. In the past there have been some instant interviews for those with particularly strong resumes. (I did not get an instant interview but was called for a regular interview 2 weeks later; I found out after I was online that the open house played a big part in this).
