American Airlines Internship

I start my internship in the flight department on August 24th in Dallas. I have free travel benefits in the jumpseat from Friday at 6p.m. until Monday morning when I have to be in the office. Obvisously with this great privilege I will be able to see most of the American and American Eagle fleet, but my reason for the post is to get any recommendations as to approaches I would benefit from or just enjoy seeing? Also, is there any airport I should go and check out while I am working for AMR. The rules for the jumpseat are no INTL flights and I was told no Las Vegas or Phoenix because of the large amounts of crew trying to get in and out.

Thanks again,
Illini

I guess I am basically asking if anyone could give me some great places to visit for both the approached and the cities themselves. Are there any seasonal destinations that are worth the time to go and see?

I think jump seating to Reagan International would be a fun trip. You'll most likely be able to experience the visual approach down the Potomac, and if you have a lay over for a few hours you could go see Arlington National Cemetery, or walk downtown and see the monuments.

I did an internship with Independence Air in DC in the spring of 05 and I never got tired traveling downtown, even though it took me a few times to get the streets down

Good Luck on your internship!

Excellent, I'll make sure I head out to Reagan for some of the sights.

I would say hop on a flight to KEGE. The departure from there seems like it'd be fun to watch... Nice turn as soon as youre airborne for terrain avoidance.

There are so many good places to go you wont be able to see them all. Try using the dart board method that way it is an adventure.

And if you really want some boring destinations come on over and visit me on Saab. We go to every little **** hole in TX and most little **** holes in LA now from DFW.

I thought about that. I was going to put a bunch of destinations in a hat and pick some out. PM me your Employee number if you work for AE and I'll make sure I jumpseat a ride with you.
