pay
for mid jets Captain they offer a Base of 48,000 a year and $50.00 per flight hour. For mid size Jet F/o they pay $25,000 a year and $30.00 an hour.

Effectively, a Hawker Captain should be earning 80 to 90,000 a year and working for Majestic Jet would have to fly an average of 65 to 80 hours per month EVERY SINGLE MONTH to earn his average salary.

A first officer in a Hawker should be earning the industry standard of 55 to 65k a year and would have to fly 100 to 125 hours EVERY SINGLE MONTH for Majestic Jet to earn that pay!

We all know that no matter how powerful a company's charter department is, that aircraft will only average about 25 to 40 hours a month MAX, EXCEPTION being around the holidays of course.

Do the numbers and decide for yourself if there is where you want to be!

Don't quote me on this, but I used to fly with a guy who is currently at Majestic. Last I heard from him (about 4 months ago) he was averaging 65hrs a month. Thats all I know, food for thought

yeah 65 hours would have been a great month no doubt. And a captain with Majestic at their pay scale flying 65 hours every single month would have been making industry pay!

But look at it this way! Would you want to have to fly that much as a captain just to make standard pay! And F/o's really get hurt. Their pay structure is a lot like what these other 135 operations are doing. They pay a small base and then pay the pilot per flight hour. This problem with this in my humble opinion is that this pay structure pressures pilots to fly broke airplanes so that they will still get a decent paycheck. A lot of napkin writeups going on. Trust me I have seen it in a few different places.

I flew a contract job before my current job and it was the first time that I had been paid per flight hour.
I did NOT like being paid by the hour because I felt that pressure you are talking about - whether it be maintenance issues, weather issues, or even the 'customer' cancelling the operation. Every time I manned up and didn't go I couldn't help but think "well that just cost me $XXX!"
