If money, security, pension, widebody options, international options, health benefit options are important fly at UPS.

If daytime flying and passengers are important fly SWA.

It really is what works best for you. Also, consider where you live and if the commute plays a role.

Definately Southwest! That way there is 1 less person in the pool that I am competing against...lol. Seriously though, both are great choices. Are you in the pool, or do you have an actual class date?

I can't say from experience but if I were there I would go UPS in a second; I'm biased though - I want to fly cargo more than anything else.

Whichever way you go, good luck to ya!

Let me put it this way, I have never met a SWA pilot that didn't have nothing but good things to say about working there.

Here at UPS, I rarely hear anyone say anything good about the company or the way they treat their employees.

Your choice!!

Yea they all love SWA and so do I. But where will the pax guys be in 20 years? No one knows. Every few years a different airline looks like the place to be (just as the Eastern, PanAm, DAL, UAL ...etc guys) Right now Cargo is the place to be if you want a secure future.
Right now UPS hands down!

in 2010 who knows

True, but you don't have to deal with passengers. That's about 90% of what makes flying cargo more appealing.......oh yeah and the fact that UPS pays cash for everything (that gives me a warm and fuzzy too).

Pays cash for what exactly?

Their airplanes, companies it buys, etc.

My 2 cents worth.....
I believe UPS will be around for a very, very long time.

At some point SWA is going to start paying the same price for gas as all the others....they can't hedge forever. They will be renewing their contracts in the next few years, pilots, attendants and mechs all coming due soon.

The passenger industry is one of the few industries where they are selling their product for less than it cost to produce. UPS and FDX don't do this.
