Does anyone have any information on Barr Air Patrol? Is it just a stepping stone or could one possibly make a career there? It looks like they do charter stuff along with the pipeline patrol but I am wondering what the progression might be.

• commercial certificate with instrument rating

So do they fly King Airs or not? Nothing on their 'Fleet' page shows that they fly them. I would have thought if they did then they would be highlighted since they are using a picture of one on their homepage. Just an observation.

They seem to be in the midst of hiring a new chief pilot according to the various hiring sites--I'd expect confusion until that issue settles.

They have been looking for a new chief pilot for several months now...

I interviewed with them late last year for a pipeline pilot position. They were looking for pilots who were committed to flying the pipeline for a career. They informed me that one of their pilots had been there for 30 years flying the same pipeline and that it takes a minimum of 6 months for a pilot to become familiar enough with their route and the pipeline look fors.

Apparently, I made a mistake in asking about growth opportunities into the charter side of the business. I was informed that they only had one aircraft on the 135 certificate that was used solely to fly the owner and guest around. I was informed that the 135 certificate was only in place due to one oil company's operation requirements for retaining their services.

That question along with my honest answer on 3-4 years of flying the same pipeline before I would like a different challege resulted in not even a thanks; but no thanks phone call or letter after I was informed they would be back in touch.

Whats so wrong with this? I don't get it?

Are jobs that hard to come by that they can require, and find, pilots with 1500 hours to fly a cessna 172? Or is there an FAA requirment for it?
