PIC PIC PIC PIC blah blah blah nobody hears it more than me I am leaving a potential upgrade within 6 months to go to Expressjet which I am not even sure if I won't get furloughed, but its all about what YOU WANT. I want to fly newer aircraft and go to differnt destinations, and I can't wait to drive 20 minutes to EWR as sopposed to 1 1/2 hrs each way to my base at Colgan, not to mention Per diem, much much much much better work rules, better pay etc..... but hey if you want quicker upgrade than go for it, just remember everybody can tell you this or that, but everybody has there own needs
(Hector in IAD is good but the other mx guys will sign off a Prop with a 3 foot gash in it

P.S. Propellers are for girls! heheeh j/k the SAAB is an awesome airplane , but I hear the ERJ is pretty nice too

I have friends at COEX so I wish the best for all those guys. Your right in saying that you have to follow what you want but keep the big picture in mind. If you can upgrade in 6 months at Colgan then you will be eligible for hire at airlines like Southwest in 2 years. Where, if you go to COEX you are looking at 2-3 yrs + until upgrade and then another 1-2 years to become eligible for SWA. That's a total of 4-5 years as compared to 2. That could also mean 1000 pilots that are be behind you at the majors as compared to having them in front of you. You’re probably pretty young and if you are then the majors will probably be in your future, if you’re older than COEX is a good company. Either way, good luck and think about where you really want to be, i.e. your dream job then target it.

Second, I am a 2nd generation Airline Pilot and a great friend of mine is a hiring CA at SWA. I currently fly the EMB-120 at SkyWest where the upgrade time on the Bro is 1 1/2 years, the jet 2 1/2. My dream job is SWA or UPS; I will not leave SKW until I have one of those two jobs. TURBINE PIC opens doors that aren't open to SIC TURBINE. I am following my friend’s advice and he has always steered me right.

GOOD LUCK and SCREW BLOWJETS and the whole MESS-a group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude I don't want to burst your bubble, but loose the attitude before you get here or you'll wash out of training. I look forward to working with you, and don't take this the wrong way (you probably don't mean to) but you're coming across a bit arrogant and pushy. Just friendly advice, you're going to love this place. Cheers.

I didn't read anything arrogant in the inital post... I guess it's all how you interpret things.

(That said, the reply where the poster states "I'm not going to washout and I'm not arrogant" probably could have been left unsaid...)

Oh Boy
Well I agree I get a little too emotional, what I meant to say was I will do everything in my power to not washout of training, we had one washout At Colgan and it was pretty sad, poor guy was a mess, kinda ruined the moral, but anyway most of my emotion just stems from frustration of not knowing whats going to happen, but I guess thats the joy of the ride
