PC12 Pay in the Midwest

Subscribe
I am seeing a lot of Pilatus, or other SE turboprop traffic in the airports lately. I was wondering what a Pilatus PC12 pilot would make a year or for a daily rate here in the midwest area?

Thanks in advance for the posts!

We are looking into the possibility of a new plane. Right now it looks like its between a King Air 200 and now that I showed the boss the PC-12 he is considering it. What are your opinions on the PC-12? I think that for its size, performance, and operating cost it is a good option. The boss is wondering about the resale market on the PC-12 if and when we decide to sell compared to the King Air. Thoughts?

Well.. I will give you my .02 on a PC-12. I flew it full time for a construction company for about three years averaging around 500 hours per year. It is a great airplane for what it can do. The cargo door really is useful and never had a problem filling it with people and bags for a 1200 mile trip in and out of a grass strip. I however never liked the whole single engine thing. Dont get me wrong its safer than many things one can do but at night, over the gulf or mountains, in weather was NEVER a fun thing. I dont care how good of a pilot you are, things will go really bad given the right conditions in a single engine. I know they say it never fails but i have had two turbine failures in my day, one in pretty nasty weather and I am here to tell you that the second motor humming out there would make me pay 10 times the operating costs when you need it. But again in the grand scheme of ways of transportation its a pretty safe way to go

hope this helps

I am currently flying a Pilatus for a life flight company out of the rocky mountain west. The schedule is 7 on 7 off, single pilot and the pay is $55,000 yearly. I average around 250 hours a year. Good luck!
