I talked with a birdie, with a penair badge, who was assuring me they are a stable company who definitely does not expand fast, but to do good at what they do, where they are...

Well they want to expand fast now, right from the horse's mouth. Crooked has the timeline (however flexible) correct. No, neither contract has been awarded. I assume that the post about us looking for pilots is from someone in management because we can't find people, or possibly enough if all this actually goes through and hell freezes over.

Can someone give me the DL on what happened with Big Sky when the took the EAS over from Cape?

well first, we had got the contract and partnered with delta the ramp sucked it was all delta mainline guys working they did not care what time we got out the weather was always bad we were never on time and pilots kept telling mgt but they did nothing.... couple of months later delta said see ya if you can't keep on time and it killed the whole airline. Of course there were other things such as mx and on and on they had too many captains they were flying CA and CA on a lot of flights. It was a joke one time they were pushing us to get a flight out we get down to the plane and there is snow up above the props and the captain had to dig us out no rampie wanted to help they just watched. But he had a good time doing it because it was his last week before he was leaving for Northwest.

I don't hold out hope of Pen Air doing it any better. You never get good help using other people's rampers. There are so many questions right now, and few answers.

Does anyone know when this came about? And why they switched their business model to expand into far away markets, compared to their previous mentality of doing their Alaska flying well and like a family...

Seyberts and Scott want to grow the company. More money I guess. I never thought to ask why.

Seems like a lot of senior pilots in both seats have been leaving for the past year or two.

Maybe they are worried about Horizon coming to Alaska and looking for something else to do with their planes.

I don't think PenAir is too worried about Horizon in Alaska. We'll see if it ever happens at all...
