Looking for a great Part 135 manager

I started an air taxi service about 7 years ago with 1 Piper Chieftain. Over the years things have progressed to where today I operate 6 aircraft, from a Cessna 182RG to a 2000 Grand Caravan with TKS and Garmin 600 upgrade. We average about 3500 hours a year and have plans for another turboprop and a single piston shortly. We have never had an accident and pay pilots up to $60k a year and mechanics about $90k. Everything is great except I'm ready to move on and focus on a family life more and enjoy life.

I am looking for a very unique individual to replace me over the next 4 years. At a minimum they should have a strong flight background and have a history of building Part 135 companies into profitable, safety oriented industry leaders. I have posted here as I have no idea where to find such an individual. The pay is $125k ++, you set your own hours and its usually a lot of fun. The main problem I have in finding people is that I am situated in a fairly remote part of Canada and there are no shopping malls, movie theaters or much of a nightlife. There is excellent fishing, hunting, sledding and so on though. After watching Flying Wild Alaska, I realized that there are some Americans that love this lifestyle and don't look at it as a hardship. That is what I'm looking for...someone who is looking to settle into a small northern Canadian town with their family and who can lead this company into a thriving and prosperous future.

I have no problem sponsoring the right person for a work permit but please understand that this is a career oriented position and not a time builder. If anyone knows of a great manager who is looking for a change, please put them in touch with me at [email protected]

Mike,

I'd think you'd be able to find the right talent in Alaska. Have you tried running an ad in the Anchorage Daily News? Or, cheaper yet, putting something in the Anchorage Craigslist? I know lots of people look at Craigslist, even if they live in the bush.
