How did that apartment building get impaled on a church spire?

HAhahahaha,the first time I saw that I was like 'wow' and I guess the upkeep is neverending considering the age of the church.
Still have more pictures to post and hard to beleive it's been a year since this trip was taken.
BTW. Finally joined the ranks of the retired this past Friday .

If you guys are in Cologne on layover and want to pick up some chocolates for the holidays the Lindt chocolate museum is about 3-4 blocks down from the main rail station on the left hand side along the river .
