Prostate cancer

Hello all and happy new year. Was just diagnosed with the dreaded PCa and was wondering if anyone here has had a similar diagnosis or knows someone who has. The FAA has already grounded me but the good news is I will still keep my job. Any advice, help wopuld be greatly appreciated. I know this is going to be a long road ahead but I will beat this and get my life back to normal. Thanks to all who respond.

I know of a GA pilot "who had it, saw the Dr, and got rid of it" (name the movie ).

He had to wait 12 months after the oncologist/uroligist gave him a clean bill of health before the FAA would revisit his medical.

Best wishes on a speedy and successful recovery!

My dad had it, diagnosed at age 65. Was removed via surgery and followups seem to check all normal. Of course dad never had annual prostate exams or physicals, starting at age 40 (as recommended in various medical circles). His theory on medical stuff was "I am fine, why should I go get a checkup"

As an aside, prostate cancer is so common that almost every elderly man at burial, will have signs of prostate issues up to include prostate cancer itself.

Good Luck

A friend of mine was diagnosed a couple of years ago, treated and is back flying with his first class medical.
