I am considering transferring (one day) to the Q400 in Houston. I am curious how are the travel benefits on the Colgan/United side compared to the Pinnacle/Delta side?

Do you have a decent priority? Does it cost? Do you get parent, travel buddy, domestic partner, spouse, ect benefits? Any information is great appreciated. PM me if you would prefer.

Thanks!

As FO or CA? Pinnacle guys hired mid 2001 can't even hold IAH Q400 Captain with these ridiculous quotas! LOL! While May 2008 Colgan guys are holding it.

Sorry, I do not know much about Colgan travel benefits. But from what I hear, Delta's $50 benefits are actually good in terms of what you get. I know AA charges Eagle guys a fee for every flight for 5 years before they come free.

We list ourselves on coair for continental flts and are listed as SA4C. We also have travel for companions ie, girlfriend, boyfriend, friend and everything in between. Your parents are also eligible pass travelers.
As for buddy passes, ive always went to the customer service counter and bought zed fares and handed them out to friends that really needed to get somewhere without any problems.
I haven't dealt with strictly United stuff yet. Hope this helps.

You have no priority on the continental side... Your board date rolls over every year... My non rev board date is 01/12.
There is no cost involved for riding in coach and a small fee for first (if you can ever get it)... Parents and a travel companion can be registered...
Overall the pass benefits suck... I just use fedex when I need to travel.

That's odd, I still have my original board date. However, if you changed equipment ie Saab-dash, your board date does reset.

My board date shows my hire date.

Changed last year I think?? Used I roll over every year to reflect the current year.

According to our Pass Bureau we enroll for Co-nited benefits in April I believe. That's when their system is supposed to be merged. We'll see.

This is a known issue with the combination of the UAL and CAL reservation systems. It should go back to your date of hire. I've heard it will prob take a few months to fix though which sucks. Only happened to guys hired last year I think.

Email Pass bureau and tell them to change your board date.

I just transferred. From what I have been able to find out so far it is mixed. The Continental Benefits are not as good although they charge per segment instead of a flat fee. The United Benefits are a mixed bag. You get buddy passes and they are based on 10% of a full coach fare. This sounds great at first glance until you realize they do this per segment. I. E. if you are going MEM ORD MCO the buddy will not pay 10 % of MEM MCO but 10% of MEM ORD plus 10% of ORD MCO. This makes the buddy passes not as good of a deal as they might seem at first. They are a good deal for international travel, however. United charges $50 per pass rider instead of a flat $50 fee. However your parents have the same travel priviliges you do, instead of the yield fare. They also charge you for first class at UA. I'm still trying to figure out if the priority is better or the same. I used them for the first time today and it was a breeze.
