Default Parking for commuting pilots SFO

Anyone have any information on where to park at SFO if you are a commuter? Is the employee lot an option? My airline doesn't have a base in SFO so they won't pay for it. Just wondering what my options are.

Default SFO parking

Bring back an old thread to find some options..

The SFO parking office told me that I am not eligible to get an employee parking permit because we don't have a base here or serve this airport..

Are there other people in similar shoes, how do you guys manage parking at SFO??

Any ideas, tips or pointers appreciated.....

Park SFO used to give me a deal but that was over decade ago. I would call the all the parking lots and see if they will hook you up. Another option is to see if you can park at the hotel where your airline puts it's crews up.

Thanks for the tip.

I will try the parking lots & hotels to see if they can offer a monthly solution.

I tried SMF & got the same answer from the folks at SMF as well..

Our company doesn't Fly to SFO, so there are no hotels that our crews overnite here..

After 9/11 the car rental rates were so low, it was cheaper to rent a car on my days off then to pay for parking on my days on. You may want to call the car rental agencies and run the numbers to see if this works for you.

If you want to park in the short-term garage for cheaper than long-term, did you ask if you were eligible for the employee coupons ($12-13 bucks a day or something like that)?

I am about to move up there also. So used to MCO and LAX selling employee parking passes but not SFO or SJC. So far all I can find is Park SFO. I figured roughly if I am doing 4 4 days trips a month it will cost me about $240 for parking each month. (ouch... it was $35 at MCO and $55 at LAX) Park SFO rates are about $15 a day per 24hr period and they don't break it down by the hr. So unless you can get back to SFO before the clock starts again on the 4th day you are paying for the whole day. Does ANYONE that commutes out of SFO have any better options? Forking over $2,880 a year on parking.... just hurts.

Unless that's a very recent change, it is also for folks with airline badges...used it for years but not in the last 12 months. Might have told you that because your airline doesn't serve SFO.
