Sorry but if you don’t like CAs dictating their pace, probably should have not went to DAL.

If you’ve ever missed a flow time, a commute, or got stuck behind traffic ahead, you would know that every second counts. ATC priority is FCFS, so get the a/c moving. If anything a push clearance is not required to be read-back; a simple “roger” or calsign should suffice.

Tool of the day are the tools that think the Captain can disregard how he treats the crew. Rushing for five seconds creates a lousy tone.

Every second absolutely does not count, but I can assure you many accidents can be traced to rushing.
