Geez, talking about making a mountain out of a molehill. Intl w/b crew descending into JFK over NJ -

ATC - "gentlemen, look at the front window. That is the sovereign state of New Jersey. The speed limit below 10,000' is 250 kts."

The guys look at each other for a second "huh???" and look at their speed. 320 KIAS, and moving nicely. "Oops, any problem?"

ATC - "nah. Welcome back."

Easy to happen when many countries do not have the 250 below 10k rule or request high speed.

ATC humor one TRW filled summer afternoon from the MIA Center controller working the south/west arrivals over SSCOT.

Guy is doing a great job blasting heading and speed clearances to 20 different aircraft, most AA with a Gulfstream thrown in the pack.

ATC:"AA1TURN RIGHT180SLOW250AA2TURNLEFT090SLOW270GULFSTREAMXYZSLOWTO250"
Couple minutes later.....
ATC: "Gulfstream XYZ, say speed"
G1159: "250 assigned"
ATC: "Good, your 250K is 40kts faster than everybody else's, slow to 210"

I think most of the professional pilots in this group are quietly sitting around the fire with a fine cigar and aged scotch pondering the mindless stupidity of your anti FFDO logic as stated above.

Hint: We've figured it out that there would be no difference in outcome if the Allah worshipping pilot went rogue had a gun or not.

ATC scolding a Cessna, started the conversation with " Cessna xxx, normally, when we give you a heading and an altitude, we like you to do that"
The tool started arguing why he didn't need to, because the controller was busy. Too bad we couldn't listen in on the follow-on phone conversation.
