Seriously, any career or profession that is worth having will have obstacles. Those who overcome these obstacles will be rewarded appropriately at the end. What is important to each of us is quite personal. Some are happy to be a first officer at a small regional while others aspire to captain a 747. Flying is a noble profession and if that is what you want, then work hard at achieving your goal, surround yourself with a good support system and never lose sight of the prize at the end. Nobody says you have to experience one of calcapt's religious experiences, but it helps.
