Just wondering if the majority of the FOs in HKG currently have ANC/MD11/FO as first choice in their standing bid? Not that FDX Management would ever apply pressure to a particular group.... Or am I just paranoid?
I am sure you are not paranoid...
If they (the HKG FO's you speak of) want to go to ANC they can ,even without a vacancy, should they have a junior pilot to them in that seat and they have completed their minimum time in HKG plus 12 months.
ANC has been overstaffed in the FO seat for a while since all the flying being taken by the 777. Lots of RFO flying that can be done out of LAX or MEM much more efficiently has been pushed to the ANC FO's to give them flying. Easier to let bid attrition reduce head count then have the dreaded excess system used.
The interesting part in this bid is the HKG CA seat, lets just say that the old adage of
"bid what you want (and are WILLING) to fly" has never been been truer. Lots of pilots who are receiving FDA pass by pay may need some antacid for the next 28 days.
