Hey everyone! After reading many threads over the past few months and trying to gather info about the corporate and commercial flying world, I thought I'd finally make a post.
I'm currently flying G-Vs for the Air Force but I'm getting ready to retire by the end of the year. Currently looking for full time work.
Does anyone have any current info about the flight department for MGM resorts such as QOL, pay, duty schedule etc?

Look forward to getting to know users on here.

No specifics on MGM as requested. Try an account with bizjetjobs.com... I have had success obtaining good networking contacts and even an interview.

Also, I have some buds in the Tampa unit, as well as the 89th. From all your sim training in the civilian world and interaction with folks in the G-V community, I'd be suprised if you didn't have people banging down the door for you as they are waiting for you to leave AD...????

Good luck

From what I've heard (on pretty good authority), those guys work very hard for not a lot of money. A lot of nights spent flying back and forth between Vegas and Los Angeles. They're almost always hiring which is a red flag as far as I'm concerned.

I've heard the same. A lot of work, not much $$.

DC10 type rating? Got your FDX app in?

Mink, in the process of putting my FDX app together.

please don't take this the wrong way but I would encourage you to hit up the heavy market instead of messing around with an operator that seems to not have a very good reputation. With your credentials etc I would have you down as a near slam dunk with the major airlines.
Again, please take this as a compliment not a knockdown.
Either way best of luck

Check out USpilotdotcom. There are a GV postings occasionally. I do agree with the others on FDX. With your pedigree, I think you would be a shoo in. Good luck in your career. Thank you for your service.

Thanks for the inputs. I don't take any of these comments the wrong way. I'm open to all the info I can get. With that being said, I also want to keep all my options open. After so many years in the military, this is a whole new world and I want to make an informed decision before I take the big leap.

The DC10 is history at FedEx. Many were converted to an MD10, which is a DC10 with the MD11 cockpit. Still FedEx is the place to be IMHO.
