AeroCrew Solutions Job Fair

Hey all, I'm planning on attending the job fair on the 21st in ATL. Trying to make the jump from 135 to 121 and looking forward to getting in front of recruiters.

I've been reading the stuff on this site and have gotten really great info from it. That being said, I was wondering if anyone could let me know a little more of what to expect at this particular event? I'm at 650 TT but have 200 SIC in the Beechjet and 70 more in the King Air (30 of that PIC), about 200 ME overall. About 150 in 135 ops. If selected, what should I expect for an "on-site" interview during the job fair? The normal stuff in the gouges? Or more of just an informational session? Regardless I'm looking forward to it!

Don't expect much if you don't meet the mins the companies really don't care. I went to the last one in May and heard give us a call when you get to 1000 tt. Regionals are only concerned with getting guys that will meet the new 1500 hr requirement. With that being said I was impressed with what Aero Crew Solutions put on. Thought they did a very nice job.

Sounds like you got a good gig going on since it sounds like you're getting some turbine time and not riding around in 100 degree heat. Sounds like a decent gig you got going on and surely it pays better than a regional unless you're paying to play.

Just like everything, 135 has its issues. It's taken forever to get the time I have even tho its quality time. And when an owner sells the only plane you fly, things get worse. Very little stability

With your TT where it is, you should have your hands full in getting any 121 operator to call you. With August 1, 2013 rapidly approaching, your only option at this point is to wait until you get your 1500 unless the NPRM passes and you meet the requirements for it. I don't want to be a naysayer, but from what I've heard at those Aerocrew fairs, unless you meet the requirements, nobody is really going to talk to you. I think my advice to you is to go get your CFI and fly off the rest of the time teaching unless you can find something else like aerial survey, which I've seen some pretty good jobs online lately for that. Generally, they're looking for about 800TT however.

Thanks for the info. The only reason I even considered going in the first place is because on the AeroCrew website it says Piedmonts mins are 600tt and no ME. I figured I had a decent shot with them (if those mins are true) and it wouldn't hurt to get in front of a few other places at the same time. Now I'm wondering if I should just save my $$...

I think they'd be hard pressed to fly you 900 hours AND spend the 2-3 months it'll take to get you through training in 12 months. In reality, by the time they interview you and get you on the line, it would likely be Novemberish. So in theory if you hit the line November 1st, they'd have 9 months to get you to ATP minimums. Seems just a bit out of reach, but that's just my opinion. Just some food for thought. PDT is advertising 1500/100 I believe on their website.

I just got off the phone with the Piemont Airlines pilot recruiter. The minimums posted on our website are correct, 600 TT, Comm-Multi-Inst, No multi mins. This will be the only job fair with the lower mins. At our next event in Chicago, the mins will go up.

That's great, I really appreciate you verifying that for me!
