A 135.299 line check is an evaluation, therefore it cannot be completed without first meeting all other training and upgrade criteria necessary to be assigned to a PIC duty position. Without a .299 you can't act as PIC on a 135 flight. If you're still confused ask a company check airman or your chief pilot.
