I haven't been at AWAC very long. I personally think something is coming. They hired 15 IOE instructors, 2 off the street instructors for sims in CLT. CRJ 700 & 900 info has been inserted into instructor training manual. Hiring for training curriculum development coordinator. Management has been traveling to Dallas. I've heard rumors that chiefs have signed a non disclosure agreement up in Appleton after a meeting.

Yeah your right, I could find alternative theory's to all of the above statements! But seems to be something on the horizon.

AWAC will only continue to exist if the owners think there's enough money to be made. Otherwise, they'll shut it down in a New York minute and walk away with the hundreds of millions they've made over the last 10 years.

They were within days of shutting it down before the USAir deal was finalised. It's a shame because there are some really good people there but it became a place to get your time and get out ASAP, years ago.

Right now there is nowhere to go. That is likely to change with about 1000 retirements per year industry-wide but as of this moment, there is virtually no movement anywhere.

I stand by what I have always said: Private ownership makes this company totally different from those which need to think only to next quarter's stock report. I will be quite stunned if the owners of AWAC just shut the doors. At worst, I think they'll sell the company. But it has been very profitable over the years and I think it will remain so.

I've got some buddies with real estate at the Brooklyn Bridge if you'd like to buy some property there.
