The Way We Live Now: United Airlines and 'Disruptive' Passengers - James Fallows - The Atlantic

You powerful and almighty UA captains are abusing your power. Absolutely disgusting. (check out the last quotation)

There's always two sides of the story. Would be interested to see an impartial, third-party account, the Captain's account and compare all three.

If this lady's account was exact, it's pretty shocking though. I doubt her story is perfectly accurate, but if it was, I'd expect there to be some sort of disciplinary action taken against the Captain, eh?

Don't forget the fourth version: what the FA's told the CA.

True! Forgot about that! But, the Alex Cross movie was so bad, I can see why they were protesting. I know I'd go crazy on a flight that played Rock Of Ages!

True, but it's a pretty slow day, I gots no email from United, and the Real Madrid-Galatasaray match hasn't started yet.

Ahhh, it's good to be the captain.

Remember that the capt is mostly disengaged. He only knows what he is told by the flight attendants.

Good to divert to ORD if you live there.

True, but isn't the Captain still responsible?

If he makes the wrong decision, he's held accountable for it, right?

I really hope he's in the right, and honestly this is probably just a story to drum up response, readership and reaction.
