I think you've got an equal shot at an interview in March as you did in January. You'll just be 50-100 numbers junior when you get hired.
I hope so for his sake. Timing couldn't have been worse. Hard to call in sick during initial training with no guarantee of getting hired. But given the massive pay difference and long term potential at JB, I would have rolled the dice and got creative!

I have been reading this thread for a while since I got called for a 9/30 interview, but haven't posted anything yet. That being said, I had to work on 9/30 and was in the exact scenario your friend is in. They were very accommodating and were able to reschedule me for 10/16. As far as I can tell, it wasn't held against me in the least. I am currently awaiting a class. Hope this helps!

I do NOT see them hiring 400 this year. That was fantasy fluff put out by the chief pilots office. Deferring deliveries in the coming years at a time when we should be increasing deliveries. I see hiring slowing if anything.

Deferments aren't for a couple more years. I was just at OSC and the classes are smaller because of the large amount of transition training. They very much intend to hire 300-400 depending on attrition. Good luck to anyone waiting to hear. The class that started this week was filled with 9/17 interviews

This seems ubiquitous across employers these days. Wife is in finance and seeking to make a move. Unbelievable how potential employers feel you can drop everything with no notice to take an interview. She even had one situation where she took off for a video interview and no one showed up on the other end. Later, she got an email that said they had technical problems and wanted to schedule next day. Of course, she was unavailable because she felt an obligation to her current employer.

Well, interviewed 2/25, class date 11/12, typed 1/3, completed 25.6 hrs of IOE yesterday... I'm now official. If anyone needs me I'll be in Kew Gardens or South Ozone Park. Day sleeping, of course.

Well you know, when scheduling blocks a 4 day for IOE at 25 hours and 1 minute, that's going to be problematic. I got signed off for the line check on the last leg but came up 37 minutes short so they added a single round twice only to cancel it twice. After 8 straight days in JFK I screamed uncle to the tune of "I'm outta stuff because you told me to pack for six days." They offered one leg from MCO to DCA if I got there and back on my own. Heck of a day trip but I commuted from DFW to MCO, flew the segment, and commuted back from DCA to DFW same day (night actually). If I'm in Boston I'll buy you a Stella when the Bud Light runs out Ted!
