They will block the aircraft registration / callsign and the Mode-S/ADS-B transponder code from being displayed on the public website.
Only the Altitude & Speed and Latitude/Longitude will be shown.

Even if the aircraft only has Mode-S without ADS-B transponder. It will still be shown on the FR24 website by using MLAT.

Update about MLATing aircraft by Mode-S transponder.

Flightradar24 Adds Flight Tracking for Non-ADS-B Equipped Aircraft
Recently added the capability to accurately locate aircraft through the use of multilateration (MLAT). This allows Flightradar24 to display positions of non-ADS-B equipped aircraft.

Some more info from the CEO Mike of Flightradar24.com on why they do the blocking/Information.

" I don't think that neither you or me can decide when a flight is sensitive ops. We already had some issues with both governments and embassy's so we will not take ANY risks of our hobby being regulated or forbidden. We will work WITH authorities not AGAINST them. "

" the people deciding this does not care what you see or think. There are strong forces who want to encrypt ADS-B data and even if it will not happen 2013, 2014 or 2015, we don't want to be the accelerator behind this decision. "

" 98% of the aircraft we block comes from the FAA block list (BARR Program). We will not try to create any conflicts with the FAA or any other national aircraft authority, no matter if you think it's sensitive or not. As mentioned in other threads here on the forum, there are already discussions about encrypting the ADS-B signal, and we don't want to speed up this process because some users thinks that some aircraft movements are not sensitive. Update Post from Oblivian:

It is a private Jet (red due to altitude over 40,000ft) and as a part of BARR requirement or request from owner to the FR24 team actual details are withheld.

If you take a look around the forum searching 'blocked' you will find a number of reasons for this. Not limited to:
To stop any legal action from owners (they always have bigger wallets and lawyers)
Prevent any aviation authorities getting upset over complaints from owners against the site
To allow continual use of the data and prevent the requirement for data to encrypted (so we can no longer do so from being fast-tracked)

Good story about it.

Aircraft Tail Blocking Complicated by ADS-B OUT Systems

As more aircraft equip with ADS-B OUT–which broadcasts position, velocity, altitude and other information in unencrypted formats on easily received frequencies–business aircraft operators are concerned about whether they can continue blocking their aircraft from display on flight-tracking websites. While the FAA offers a way for operators to request blocking of particular aircraft from FAA radar data feeds, there currently is no physical means to block reception of mode-S transponder or ADS-B signals by a simple receiver.

Blocking Aircraft Still Possible

As more aircraft equip with ADS-B out capability, which broadcasts position, velocity, altitude and other information in unencrypted formats on easily received frequencies, business aircraft operators are concerned about whether they can continue blocking their aircraft from display on flight-tracking websites.

While the big players such as FlightAware, FlightRadar24 and others work with the industry and comply with block requests, Baker isn’t sure that this will always keep blocked aircraft from being tracked by those who want to see the aircraft’s movements. “There have always been other ways of obtaining this information, [such as] multilateration, and the way things are going I think this will be a mechanism by which people will be able to pick up data from [aircraft] that are blocked.”

Data Blocking
Brian, ive tried to submit a data blocking request to the link below but there is not a submit function to this page.

I submitted the request to be blocked to the FAA today but understand this may take some time to process so i would like to request that Flight Radar stop sharing the data asap.. whats the best way to accomplish this?

Thanks
Dan
