I have a former colleague about to be furloughed and is applying at DPJ. The info I have read here isn't exactly positive, but it may not be up to date either. Would anyone care to elaborate on recent QOL/pay or is it still status quo?

Thanks in advance.

Same story, same schedule. You will work your butt off when you are there. 7/7schedule with NO VACATION. I think there is also a 8/6 schedule too. Only 2 crews per plane. Also, if your plane is gone, and you can't switch to another plane. You are gone.

I guess the only positives I can think of are: better pay than regionals, positive space to your plane and back. If he's a commuter, it might be an okay gig in the meantime.

Your friend would be better off not flying than working for them.

There is NO vacation... It is pto and can only be used for sick calls or family emergencies. It's 8/6 or 15/13. You WILL work more than that for a rediculously low daily rate. I know a guy who is number 1 seniority as a captain in his fleet on the 8/6 and has to work two 3 week tours with only a couple of days off in the middle. You will be required to cover other people's training. Pilots are quitting faster than they can hire them. They have always been able to find a plane for you if your plane goes away. You then are required to sign a new training contract. They will only hire you if you are typed on a biz jet they are short first officers on. They just stopped paying out EARNED vacation and sick time. You will realistically be gone 20 days a month. The comair mafia has taken over and are drastically taking whatever QOL you had and turning it into a sub par operation. It is a job for someone who is out of work and the ONLY option. You will hate in soon after you start!! Captains are wanting to leave but the pay is better than a regional and it's hard to find a good 91 gig.

I too have been there and I was lucky to escape just as my training contract was coming up for renewal (year 2 of 4, you have to sign the contract each year before you go to recurrent or you are fired). ANY other job will be better then getting involves with DPJ.

BTW they are not a fractional.

Most of the pilots there are furloughed fractional or corporate furloughes. That's how they get people that are already typed and experienced. The have no funding from big delta to buy types for new hires. It will ruin your life! Thankfully I was able to leave and get a good 121 job.
