Alsalam Aircraft Company

Has anyone heard of the Alsalam Aircraft Company? They have offered me a position as an ISR King Air 350 Instructor Pilot for the Royal Saudi Air Force with a pretty good total compensation package north of $250K a year. I would love to hear what anyone knows about the company, working with the RSAF & living in the Kingdom with a wife & 4 small children. Please feel free to PM me if you do not want to post on an open forum.

Thanks!

I answered you in another forum and now see you plan to bring your wife and 4 children??? Dude, I can't even begin to tell you how bad an idea this is. PM me with your cell if you want to talk, I can't in good conscience let any good American subject his family to this type of ordeal.

The KSA considers the hired help to be little more than indentured servants. Gilded Cage comes to mind...

But if you really need the money bad and are willing to tolerate the environment for a few years, it can be done. Just make sure the company store isn't rigged to take back most of your income.

Thanks Gents,

That's why I asked here. This would not be an ideal situation nor long term...more of a suck it up, get in, get paid, get out & have the house paid off type of thing. Not much info out there on the web about this company or this type of job IPing for thr RSAF. Mike I will PM you to chat, thanks for the offer man! Happy Thanksgiving!

Here is a perfect example of the awesomeness of the Middle East.

American held in Dubai for online parody video, rights group says | Fox News

Ultimate Combat System: The Deadly Satwa Gs - YouTube

Basic summary: American being held in Dubai in maximum security prison for months, for posting the youtube video I linked here. The UAE is Disney World compared to Saudi hell. Unless you want to give up all the rights and freedoms you've fought for over your military career, you'll stay out of that cesspool of humanity.

What part of your American values supports a brutal dictator? Oh, the American value of money....

If your kids are/will remain under middle school age, this might be passable. When I was in the "Kingdom" for the spring/summer of 1991, we had lunch at a Taco Bell or something similar. We ended up eating lunch next to a pretty young blond. She was home from school to visit her family (her dad worked for Aramco). She was not allowed to stay with her family as a young woman above the age of 12 or 14 or somewhere around there. She was off at boarding school, and had a limited period of time (maximum 6 weeks or so) she was allowed to remain visiting her folks. You might want to read the fine print about this stuff, I'm sure it has changed.

You might need the high walls. The corrupt Saudi monarchy is not well-loved outside the palace. They pay off their enemies, and try to direct all the young jihadi energy from the Madrassas outward toward foreign lands.
