I have check out TCC and I have been trying for a couple weeks to get information from US Aviation Academy but all they keep sending me is the standard information packet haven't been able to contact anyone there. I'm currently enrolled at a 4 year University due to start in August. But now there is a chance that I will be attending flight school for the military so may be putting it on hold until I return but won't know for another year.

Stick with the non-aviation-related degree. ANY engineering degree would be a smart choice. Mine is in aeronautics and it's about as worthless as they get. True story, I applied to be a garbage man....didn't even get a call.

For training find a cheap school and use your Post 9/11 GI Bill for flight training. When I went to ERAU a few years ago, they didn't pay for flight training but I was able to add a Flight minor to my degree, so that way it was required for me to graduate. I think they changed that option because the VA was getting bills for ten times what just one normal student would cost, but it's worth looking into.

Or, go to a Part 141 school and the Bill should cover up to $10,000. It's not much, but it's still ten grand for flying.

Well im in luck because the degree I am enrolled in is a non aviation. The schools is Part 141 and I can use my post 9/11 which is great. Im not to concerned about doing it fast or about landing a job right out of school I know that's not a very common thing. guess you could say Im spoiled I have a job I can fall back on no matter what which offers good pay and benefits. I Also have my A&P for another fall back as well I was just having some trouble figuring out which route better well the up and downs of a 4 year university vs. an aviation academy. But by the end of this year I should find out if my military flight packet went through in which case I will have to come back after training and finish fixed wing.
