Here is the obituary for former Command Airways/ American Eagle pilot Herb Upton:


Herbert F. "Herb" Upton Jr., of Melrose, died accidently on Dec. 30, 2013 at the age of 59. Herb was born in Manchester, NH, raised in Saugus, a graduate of Saugus High School, Class of 1972 and went on to earn his degree from Merrimack College. He worked as a Pilot for Signature Aviation at Logan Airport and was a full time Dad. Herb coached Pop Warner football in Melrose for 11 years and never missed any of his children's activities. He was a member of the Coast Guard Academy Parents Assoc., the NRA, American Kenpo Karate Federation and was 2nd black belt. Herb enjoyed fishing, boating, weight lifting, the ocean, the 3 stooges and spending time with his family in the back yard pool. He was the beloved husband of Kimberly (Stott) Upton for 26 years. Loving father of Samantha & Jonathan Upton, both of Melrose. Devoted son of Theresa & the late Herbert Upton, Sr., of Saugus. Caring brother of Rick Upton of TX. Uncle of Kristen & Kelly Upton of TX. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 4th from 10AM-2PM at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. There are no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Danny Williams name to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Flr., Brookline, MA 02445.
