More American-US Airways crossfleeting rumors are coming true as sources say that Mesa Airlines will indeed expand from Los Angeles.

US Airways Express will start flying to nine cities from American's West Coast hub. All will be operated by Mesa's CRJ-900s, which seat 79.

"Phase 1" of the new additions begin August 19. On that date, US Airways Express aircraft will begin operating to: Albuquerque; Denver; Fayetteville, Arkansas; Houston; Oklahoma City; Phoenix; San Francisco; and San Jose. They will not be taking over the routes completely.

Mesa will continue to grow its operation at Los Angeles after the first "phase". One of the destinations that will launch later is Tucson, Arizona, where the two airlines carry more passengers than any other airline does.

These new flights will depart from the American Eagle Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport, which is a satellite of Terminal 4.

Just did a search for those flights on the dates and routes you provided, couldn't find any operated by Mesa, except PHX-LAX, LAX-PHX, which has been on there for a long time.

Hope you're right, but are you sure this is correct?

Not sure there is going to be an announcement, its not new service. The first routes should be loaded over the weekend.

Why do you hope he's right? Mesa has some of the worst work rules and pay in the industry and hires pilots with phone interviews. They need to go away.

So LAX is becoming a crew domicile? Or will these routes be crewed out of PHX?
