Just use Private Internet Access (PIA)

$40/year and works on Windows and iOS and Android (up to 5 devices)
They don't keep records so if they are hacked, there is nothing to take.

Yep exactly.

And you can install it on some routers at your house.

It's also good for when heavy-handed and irrational forum mods decide to block your IP

I suggest checking out all the VPN providers policies on maintaining logs of your use. If they maintain logs, look elsewhere! You could be exposed when host countries come looking for violating their access laws, etc, if someone serves a supena or the USA comes to your provider with a National Security Letter.

After a few hours of reading I purchased this: $100 for 3 years, works everywhere and doesn't slow down your system like the free or cheaper ones. Nord VPN, comes highly rated by the various computer rating folks. Copy and paste the link.

A guy just happens to make his first post on a thread that's been dead for a year and includes his affiliate link. Yeah...this isn't an obvious shill or anything.

Never heard of it. I've been using ExpressVPN. Don't know that I recommend it. I'm trying VyprVPN next.

PIA has the best name recognition and supposedly makes all attempts to protect your data/your identity.

I've been using VyprVPN for years, and am quite happy with their service.
