Hi there,

I was wondering if a Jetblue pilot could tell me what the minimum daily credit guarantee is for their pilots? Thanks in advance.

We don't have a daily guarantee.

What we do have is average credit per duty period, which is five hours.

THIS IS NOT A DAILY GUARANTEE!!!

You could have a 4-day trip with three duty periods that will pay less than twenty hours. We do have these trips.

You could also have a 2-day trip where you fly eight hours on day 1 and 2 hours on day 2. You get paid 10 hours (2 duty periods). You would not get 13 hours unless you had a minimum credit per day (or duty period).

All true. But just to be clear, there is also a trip rig of 3.5/1, which would also come into play when you don't have a duty period every day on a trip. Still not as good as a daily min credit though.

Just like Spirit has. Total junk. Both need to go on our next(first) contract

All the above is correct but here it is listed out:

You are paid the greater of:

5 hours per DUTY period. (again, a 4 day trip may only have 3 duty periods)
or
1 hour for every 3.5 hours time away from base.(trip rig)
or
1 hour for every 2 hours of duty time (ie 12 hour duty day pays at least 6 hours) (duty rig)

This is probably close to industry standard. Industry standard was a lot higher a decade ago, but then companies like Jetblue were started lowering the industry standard. When the legacies went bankrupt, Jetblue was used in court as an example of gow airline pilots should make less money.

What's 1st year like?
What can a new FO realistically make 1st year? (I know payscales are out there but I'm looking for what one can expect). What's the QOL? Any take on what the addition of ALPA will do on the $ side?
Thanks for any info-

Plan on min credit , 50.00 $ first year pay. I made much more than this my first year but my timing was great as in line holder a few months out of training. Again living in base picking up extra time can change a lot tho. 2nd year pay can majorly change from person to person , 2nd year pay guys selling back PTO and getting 100 credit a month can make about 10,000 a month, not impossible, but working a lot .

So many things can vary
