Hello,

I am as of right now in a 4 year aviation college program. Currently a sophomore in college and have my PPL and working on IR with around 110TT in C172sp.

I received my PPL training through a local flight school but did it as 141, than transferred into the College Aviation Science program. Right now things are not what they were said they were to be. The program here seems to be very unorganized and lacking communication. As of right now the Inst and Comm courses are not flying. It is now a month and a half into the semester and I have yet to receive 1 out of the 6 emails I have sent trying to obtain an answer as to why. They have already lost the large sum of money I had sitting in my flying account for a month and justt found it 2 days ago. Just having a very bad feeling about this school.

After this rough start I am curious if I should stay in this program or return to my great flight school at Hanscom AFB. The aviation college is fully accredited, which I know has some great benefits connected to that. From what I gathered since being in this program, this is the typical. Unfortunately, I was not able to gather all of that prior to starting here.

I would just like to hear what your guys opinions are, whether or not it would be a good idea to stay or to stick it out.

Sorry if there are grammer errors, typing this out on my phone.

Thanks!

Lost your money, no communication, no flying halfway through the semester.... GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT! This is like continuing into IMC without an instrument rating, your really gambling with what's going on over there.

Why aren't you just getting a NON AVIATION degree and getting your ratings on the side..? Most of the time it's less expensive this way AND you actually have a degree that works for you outside of aviation and most likely will be more lucrative.

At any rate, look elsewhere for your aviation endeavors I would have to say.

Appreciate the response. I'm totally considering leaving. I just made the huge commitment to come up here from home just for this reason that's the only reason why I'm still open to staying.

I totally understand, however DONT get too emotional about it. It is what it is and recognizing what's going on is only the first phase of changing the course of action. I'm headed to ATP the 25th of the month and if my training location was like that stated above, I would be somewhere else very fast. Good Luck and stay safe.

Yeah now that I have dugg myself into this situation, I realize that the gig I had prior to coming to this college was really nice.

I was going to community college and was working on my PPL on the side, had a great flight school and awesome professional instructor. Really honestly feeling like I should go back to that routine.

Any advice from anyone would be great!

In situations like this, I learned a long time ago, go to the top: go talk to the school president. Sit outside his office or by his car until he talks to you. Be thoughtful, organized and brief, but demand answers and accountability.

And get a lawyer.

Current Situation
Well they did find my money an I do have it in a account. So the money isn't a issue anymore. It's the fact they did not have it anymore and didn't say a word to me. But I plan finding someone to solve the issue.
