Because of the SSP and ETD, Delta has agreed to hire 300 pilots a year from Endeavor. Since our SSP pass rate has been well below 50%, what happens when there are no longer enough qualified pilots (captains) to fulfill the 300 pilot hiring commitment.

Secondly, our bankruptcy agreement requires that Delta maintain a fleet of 81 CRJ 900's until 2020. What happens when we can no longer staff the minimum 81 airplanes?

I just want to get some opinions. I've already wasted 7 years of my life at this company and don't want to waste anymore.

I asked the same question to TW last week. His response was that we will have no problem staffing once pilots see upgrades happening. This of course is once they get down to about 900 pilots. Most likely by the end of next year. He also said that with all of the other regionals parking 50-seaters that there will be an ample amount of pilots to chose from. I think it is safe to say that unless DAL is your number one major of choice then going to JB, Spirit, and so on would be your best move. That's what I'm doing. I know others in our position that are bailing to other regional airlines. I'm not ready to sell my soul yet.

TW's statements are only true if the SSP becomes an actual flow, there is no guarantee that the SSP will move enough guys out of here to have a meaningful number of upgrades. And, based off what is going on so far, not even close.

What our management doesn't seem to get, is that guys are leaving due to the uncertainty, upgrades have nothing to do with it.

What's happening at Endeavor is regional karma at work. You guys voted deep pay cuts and screwed everyone because of the way DL makes its regionals match the second lowest competitor.

I can say everyone told you so over a year ago when you voted for your contract.

Quote: ....says the toughguy from XJT who fled to Mesa for the quick upgrade...Really? You went to Mesa and you are going to lecture others?
Quote: I'm not lecturing anyone. I am standing behind them. Big difference.

BTW, I didn't flee to Mesa. I was furloughed in 2008 and exercised my recall rights that were deferred under the 1500 hour rule LOA.

I'll vote "no" on any POS contract that comes along here, but it doesn't mean I have to stagnate my own career while your lifer *** can continue to make 3-4x the pay I make, all while building time that does essentially nothing to my career progression.

I'll do what I can to help the greater good out, but that does not include 8-10 years in right seat of an RJ.

Ironic coming from a Mesa pilot. How can you belittle Endeavor pilots when you knowingly accepted employment at the worst paying regional jet operator in the country? Jeez, you young guys are a riot.

To the OP: Those are the million dollar questions. Numbers never lie though. Even if we lost 400 pilots next year that does necessarily mean rapid upgrades. Especially when FO attrition outpaces Captains.

But but but, He didnt vote it in so he is not the problem. He only accepted it for a quick upgrade.

Quote: You gotta look beyond pay rates! I can't believe this has to be explained to pilots. Your paycheck is not a reflection of your hourly rate. It's a reflection of work rules. You can work min days off a month, 16 hour duty days, every day and the figures above won't reflect any different. However, I guarantee your QOL will...

wait I thought pay rates didn't matter???? Or was that only when you were defending yourself at Mesa?
